12 Thousand Kilometers Away – Youth Report

My name is Monica, and I’m 12 years old. I went to New Zealand for 11 weeks, and for 5 of them I was without my parents. It was a bit scary at first but by the time I left, I almost didn’t want to go back!

Going to a different country is so much fun! Although I’m told that I picked up a bit of an accent, I still think it was one of the best experiences of my life!

My favourite part was looking at the full moon in Ohope beach, when it was reflecting back on the ocean. It was really cool to be in a different country with family that I don’t see very often! There was a couple of things that I did miss though; My friends, my little brother, my Mum, and my Dad.

I hope that after reading this you will consider sending your child(ren) to another country. After all, it will be a nice break, for them, and You!!
