Art Bark – Where Local Artists and a Great Cause Come Together

Pauline Hunter and a crew of volunteers are hard at work in the Jacobson Ford show room. The reception desk has become a bar, a large table is ready for the appetizers Hunter is about to pick up, a raffle table is being created, and over 50 pieces of art, donated by local artists for the Art Bark silent auction, are being displayed.

The raffle table has a variety of items, including a vehicle detailing valued at $250 from Jacobson Ford, and a beer basket donated by Begbie Brewing.

Entry is by donation. Beer and wine are $3 each. The event ends at 7 pm, though bidding will end earlier.

The Art Bark is the first of its kind as a fundraiser for the Revelstoke and District Humane Society (RDHS). Every piece of art has been donated, and all proceeds will go towards the costs of running the RDHS.

In addition to offering stray cats and dogs a safe place to stay until they are eventually rehomed, the RDHS offers financial assistance in their Spring Increased Assistance Spay & Neuter Program.

This program helps offset the cost of spaying and neutering animals in the care of Revelstoke residents. Applications for the spring intake open May 15. For 2019, from May 15 to June 30 (while funds are available), the RDHS is offering up to 50% assistance with the cost of spaying & neutering Revelstoke dogs and cats. There is a lifetime maximum of two animals per household that are eligible for the program.

Application forms are available here on the RDHS blog at https://revelstokehumanesociety.wordpress.com/spay-neuter-…/

Please email completed applications to revelstokehumanesociety@gmail.com
