A crime has been committed. Revelstoke’s incorporation papers have been mysteriously misplaces and seven suspects are roaming the building. Will you be the one to find the papers? What questions will you ask? If you are ready to solve some crime, eat some appies, and have a glass or two of wine, then you are in luck. Tonight, from 6:0o – 8:00 pm, head down Revelstoke Museum and Archives for the Citified and Mystified event.
The $10 tickets are selling, 50 have sold so far, and more will be available at the door. The event will have appies made by Arrowhead Catering and a cash bar offering wine and non alcoholic drinks.
“Our seven character volunteers have each been given a backstory, and they don’t know who the guilty one is either and may even accuse one another,” says museum Curator Cathy English. Attendees will submit their guesses to Holly, the evenings police clerk, and the winners and their prizes will be revealed just before 8:0 pm.
“We’ve never done anything like this before. We wanted to do something to involve the guests and we tossed around a few ideas before settling on this one,” says English. “It will be fun. We like to celebrate and have parties, and 120 years of being an incorporated city is worth celebrating.”
The volunteer actors are all based on historical residents of Revelstoke. “One woman is playing a Chinese businessman, another is a little boy and one is the man who built the opera house,” says English. “All the biologies are true, so people have a chance to learn a little about the history of some people as well as why residents were concerned if Revelstoke was incorporated or not.”
Come on down and support the Revelstoke Museum and Archive and have a good time while you’re at it.
