Crash in Same Area on Trans Canada Two Days in a Row

A crash has occurred in the same area as yesterday’s fatality which claimed the life of an adult male from Alberta.

Revelstoke RCMP are currently investigating the following: On Thursday July 18, 2019 shortly before 5:00 AM, BC Ambulance Services notified RCMP with respect to a single vehicle crash located approximately 33 kilometers east of Revelstoke, BC on the Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP attended and learned that a westbound semi-tractor trailer unit, hauling equipment had, “jack-knifed” and came to a rest, blocking both lanes.

The highway was closed for approximately three hours. The driver and his passenger, both from BC, were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Fortunately there were no other vehicles involved or any other injuries.

Road conditions were described as wet from heavy rain with clear visibility.

Revelstoke RCMP would like to remain motorists of the recommended speed sign of 80km/h posted for westbound motorists, prior to the curves, in this area and to obey the rules of the road and drive relative to the conditions.
