(Revelstoke, BC) – Revelstoke skiers led the charge this weekend at the BC Cup held here. Local members of the Junior National Ski Team (Elizabeth Elliott, Beth Granstrom) attended as well as members of the BC Talent Squad (Alexandra Luxmoore, Elliot Wilson, Nyssa Thomas, Maeve MacLeod) and BC Development Squad (Jaclyn Elliott, Nelson Luxmoore, Emily MacLeod, Erik Brosch, Kolibri Drobish). These top calibre ski racers inspired their younger teammates and encouraged them to do their best on Saturday’s classic sprint races and Sunday’s mass start free technique events.

The next BC Cup is the BC Championships that will be held at Larch Hills, Salmon Arm, on March 1-3. The next race for older skiers will be the Western Canadian Championships at Telemark Nordic in Kelowna on February 8-10, and for midgets Skiers aged 9-12, the Midget Championships at Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre in Vernon, BC on February 16-17. Juvenile and older skiers have set their season goal to peak at the National Ski Championships that will be held in mid-March in Gatineau, Quebec.
