Homeowners Property Tax Notices for 2019 Issued

If you’re a homeowner in Revelstoke, it might be of interest that all property tax notices for 2019 have now been issues. A news flash from the City states the following –

The Property Tax Notices for 2019 have been mailed out and are due for payment by July 2nd, 2019.  If you have not received your tax notice, or if you have recently purchased a home, please contact City Hall at 250-837-2161.  Failure to receive a property tax notice does not relieve the owner from payment nor penalty for late payment. Post-dated cheques ARE accepted until July 2nd, 2019.

If you are unable to pay your taxes in full by the due date, please ensure you apply for your Provincial Home Owner Grant before July 3rd, 2018.  Payments received and Provincial Home Owner Grants applied for, after July 2nd, 2019, are subject to a 10% penalty on the current balance outstanding.  Customers on the installment plan should also make sure that they claim the Provincial Home Owner Grant by July 2nd, 2019 in order to avoid the penalty on that portion of their property taxes.

If you are mailing your payment please note that postmarks are NOT accepted as proof of timely payment.

City Hall is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will be closed July 1st, 2019.
