Obituary Notice – Edward Victor Norman Ross December 4, 1945 – December 21, 2020

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ed (Eddie) Ross a life long resident of Revelstoke, BC on December 21, 2020.

After a very courageous and short battle with Lymphoma (Double Hit) dad is no longer suffering. In spite of dad’s severe pain his demeanor and humor remained strong. Dad was surrounded by family as we celebrated his Heavenly Graduation. Truly a treasure to Heaven.

Dad worked as a locomotive engineer for CP Rail and retired after 41 years of service. During his younger years, dad had a passion for adventures and left no rock unturned. He tried gold panning and mushroom picking and was quite the handyman in his time off from work. He had a love and passion for flying in which he spent many hours flying his own plane. He left his family with many terrific memories and adventures. Dad was also a pillar in the Revelstoke Flying Club in which he was still an active member. Dad also enjoyed his daily coffee with his many great friends at various locations around town. If you did not see him at coffee then you probably saw him at the post office picking up his mail! Dad loved his many hello’s and chit chats. His neighbours will remember him standing in his yard surveying the neighbourhood and making sure all was well with those around him. Many will remember dad for his concern for others and his passion for helping.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, George and Olga Ross. Ed will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his daughters Corrie Ross (Chris L’Ecluse) of Kamloops, Barbara Ross of Salmon Arm, granddaughters Shealynn and Leah L’Ecluse, his ‘brother like cousins’ Trevor Ross, Wayne Desimone and Dennis Desimone, his Aunt Helene, numerous cousins, and many close friends.

We would like to thank those whom kept a close eye on dad and provided kindness during these COVID times when he was in need of some assistance. We would like to thank Dr. Sara Brown for making sure dad was well looked after especially in these past couple months. Our thanks also extends to those that work for Interior Health and BC Cancer Agency Kelowna that moved mountains and rearranged Thanksgiving plans to get dad the treatment he needed. To the staff at Queen Victoria Hospital, thank you for kindness, care and great meals.

When it is safe to do so we will hold a Celebration of Life in Ed’s honour.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Revelstoke Community Foundation, Revelstoke District Health Foundation or the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary.
