Francesco “Frank” Bafaro passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Friday, February 14 th , 2020 at the age of 84 years. Prayers will be recited from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Wednesday evening, February 19 th at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning, February 20 th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Cecil Nunez celebrant. Pallbearers are Luigi Fuscando, Mike Bafaro, Ethan Driscoll, Peter Iaccino, Benito Iaccino, and Josef Kollman. Interment will follow in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of B.C., 600 – 890 West Pender Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 1J9, in memory of Frank.
Frank was born in Spezzano, Piccolo, Cosenza, Italy on July 28, 1935 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1953. Frank was a member of the Revelstoke Vintage Car Club and the Italian Canadian Club. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Frank enjoyed soccer and foraging for mushrooms, picking huckleberries and making wine. He was a great gardener and enjoyed his seasonal activities. Frank was very supportive of his family and proud of all “our” endeavours.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Michele and Amalia and two sisters: Rosetta and Tonina. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gilda of Revelstoke; three children: Michele (Katherine) Bafaro of Vancouver, Ornella (Lee) Humphreys of Revelstoke and Richard (Kirsten) Bafaro of Vancouver; two grandchildren: Julian Bafaro of Vancouver and Sophia Humphreys of Revelstoke; his brother Cesar Bafaro of Revelstoke as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
