It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of G. Brian (Pops) Popplewell at the age of 69 years, 10 months in Hanna, AB.
Brian was employed by Canadian Pacific Railway for 38 years. Brian worked all subdivisions in BC, as a locomotive engineer and made many friends throughout his career.
Brian was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Edith Popplewell. He is survived by his siblings: Dianne, Barb, Judd (Carolyn) and John (Patti); niece Kirstin (Shaun) and great nephew Jack; Aunt Sheryle Lind; many cousins and their families; special friend Terri and son Tanner; and dogs Whiskey and Raz. Brian leaves behind many friends in Hanna, where he resided for the past 15 years, since his retirement.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at the Hanna Seniors Circle, Hanna, AB. Interment will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Revelstoke, BC., at a later date.
Donations in memory of Brian are gratefully accepted at the Hanna SPCA, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
