Gordon Norman Peressini, with family at his side, passed away peacefully in Queen Victoria Hospital on January 28, 2020.
Gord was born in Revelstoke on August 8, 1932 and was a life-long Revelstoke resident. An avid swimmer and hockey player in his youth, he transitioned to Senior’s Hockey where he had the opportunity to travel with the team to Scotland and the U.S. to represent the “Alpine City”.
On retirement from Canadian Pacific Railway, where he was employed in various positions within the Customer Service Centre, Gord developed a passion for golf and spent many hours on the course with his band of buddies. Gord also kept a strict schedule between rounds of golf and could be found at 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. at McDonalds with coffee in hand, discussing the events of the day with the gathered crowd of senior gentlemen.
Gord was predeceased by his parents, Dante (Mike) and Jenny Peressini and is survived by Delfina, his wife of 62 years; daughters Patti (Jim) and Janice; brother Raymond (Sharon) Peressini; his aunt Babs Defoe; brother-in-law Jack van Goor; sister-in-law Jean Williamson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express thanks to friends and extended family for their love and support during this sad time. Also, sincere thanks and appreciation to Drs. Chris MacDonald, Cam Molder, Bret Batchelor, the Acute Care Nurses and the Home Care Nurses for their professionalism, compassion, guidance and care.
A Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke on Wednesday afternoon, February 5 th , 2020 at 1:00 p.m. A Drop-In Reception will follow at the Selkirk Gardens Common Room from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Gord’s name.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
