Lawrence Peter Hutnyk
August 7, 1932 – July 18, 2019
Lawrence Hutnyk passed away at Mount Cartier Court, Revelstoke on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the age of 86. A Celebration of Lawrence’s Life will be held Saturday July 27, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Revelstoke Seniors Center with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer Foundation, in memory of Lawrence.
Lawrence was born in Revelstoke, B.C on August 7, 1932 and has been a resident his whole life. He was well known around town for his daily drives in his white pickup truck and friendly and kind nature. He was employed at Downie Timber, Ltd, where he worked for many years. His detailed knowledge of the place was impressive and called upon over the years, well into retirement.
Lawrence was predeceased by his parents and brother James. He is survived by his two sons, James of Langley and David of Vancouver; three grandchildren: Jacob, Cyrus and Felix; brother Anthony of Kamloops; and sister Caroline Moen of Guelph, Ontario.
Thank you for the care of Lawrence by Drs. Chris MacDonald, Kirk McCarroll and Kate McCarroll and all the amazing nursing staff at Queen Victoria Hospital and Mount Cartier Court.
As Lawrence’s health failed him, the family is especially appreciative of the care and support provided by his two closest friends, Sonny Pederson and Tony Federico.
