Maria Lentini passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side at Mount Cartier Court, in Revelstoke on Monday, March 23 rd , 2020 at the age of 89 years.
A Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday morning, March 27 th , 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Cecil Nunez celebrant. Entombment will follow in the family crypt of Sage Valley Mausoleum in Kamloops.
Maria was born in Staiti, Reggio Calabria, Italy on April 28th, 1930. Maria has been a resident of Revelstoke since April 1968. She was very strong in her Catholic faith and dedicated to the church. Maria loved cooking and growing her flowers especially her red roses. Maria was very dedicated to all her family. Maria especially loved her grandchildren and actively helped in raising all four (Peter, Valerie, Domenic and Dorian). Maria lived for Sunday Family Dinners, where the entire family would connect and gather after Sunday morning Mass over espresso and her homemade biscotti. Her home was always open to her neighbours for 3 p.m. espresso and filled with laughter and love.
Maria was predeceased by her parents Francesco and Francesca Talia, her sister Vittoria Morabito and brother Augustino Talia. She is survived by her wonderful husband of 67 years, Domenico of Revelstoke; three children: Tony of Revelstoke, Cathy (Paul) Suraci of Revelstoke and Frank of Revelstoke; four grandchildren: Peter (Julia) Suraci of Kelowna, Valerie Suraci of Lake Country, Domenic Lentini of Revelstoke and Dorian Lentini of Revelstoke; two great grandchildren: Natalie, Madelyn and great grandbaby #3 due August 2020 (Peter and Julia), as well as numerous nieces and nephews that absolutely loved her.
Maria had a smile for everyone and will truly be missed.
