Marion Grace Jones passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019 at the age of 91 years. A Memorial Service will be held at the Revelstoke United Church on Thursday, December 5th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend David Cooke officiating.
Marion was born in Chapleau, Ontario on June 3, 1928 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1945. She was an active member of the Order of The Eastern Star since 1951, The Revelstoke United Church and the Senior Citizens’ Association. Marion was a former Girl Guide leader and sang in the Senior’s Choir. She enjoyed curling, cross-country skiing, bowling, golfing, swimming and skating, along with baking and knitting. Marion especially enjoyed watching curling and hockey on the television. She loved the time she spent every summer at the family property on Slocan Lake (Valhalla) for 32 years. When not at the lake, they liked touring Canada and the USA.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Con, parents Bill and Norma Sinfield, her twin sister Margaret McMahon and her sister Ruth Melnyk. She is survived by her son Kent (Laurie) of Revelstoke; grandchildren: Trevor (Andrea) Lenzi of Revelstoke, Tanya (Justin) Haskett of Cochrane, Alberta and Jeff (Sarah) Lenzi of Revelstoke; great grandchildren: Ethan, Caleb, Cole, Eden, Arlo and Grayson, her grand dog Sydney, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke United Church or the Revelstoke Senior Citizen’s Association, in memory of Marion.
Marion’s family would like to thank Dr. Johnson and the staff of Queen Victoria Hospital for the wonderful care given to Marion.
