Maura Theresa Dower passed away at her home in Revelstoke on December 3, 2019 at the age of 60 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke on Wednesday, January 22 nd , 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Cecil Nunez celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Revelstoke Humane Society, P.O. Box 340, Revelstoke, B.C., V0E 2S0, in memory of Maura.
Maura was born in New Hyde Park, New York, U.S.A. on December 31, 1958. In her early years she enjoyed Jones Beach on Long Island, and was an avid swimmer. Maura spent her younger years working a block from Madison Square Gardens. In Revelstoke she worked at Nanimahoo Art Gallery and volunteered with the Red Cross. Maura was an R.N. with a big heart. She enjoyed hiking, walking her dog McDougal and spending time with friends. Maura was a voracious reader and a great conversationalist.
Maura was predeceased by her parents Joe and Theresa Dower. She is survived by her husband Dale Dusang; sister Ellen (J.J.) Goldsmith of Orlando, Florida, brothers; Larry Dower of Long Island, N.Y. and Tom Dower of New York, N.Y, her faithful dog McDougal and numerous nieces and nephews.
