Obituary Notice – Nicole Marie Joesi “Niccki” Deverall

With heaviest of hearts we are devastated by the passing of our beloved, beautiful daughter Nicole (Niccki) Marie Joesi Deverall, who passed away peacefully with her loving children and family at her side at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops on March 25, 2020, after a lengthy 18 week stay.

Niccki battled stomach cancer courageously with sheer elegance since the devastating diagnosis in October of 2018, but it was beyond her control. She made a very positive impact in this world and will be sorely missed by all that knew her. Our hearts have been shattered into a million pieces.

Niccki was born in Kamloops, B.C. on March 6 th , 1977 and was a lifelong resident of Revelstoke. She attended Mount Begbie and Mountain View Elementary Schools before graduating from RSS in 1994, where she made many lifelong friends.

More than anything, Niccki loved being a mother to her three beautiful children Emjai, Natalie and Brooks from the minute they were born. She lived and fought fiercely to protect them and give them a life enriched with love and support. She taught them to have compassion for others, to respect themselves and others, honesty and above all, to keep their faith in God.

Niccki was always there with her love and generosity for anybody that needed a helping hand. Her home was always open to everyone. She was always happy and cheerful – such a joy to be around. Her huge, beautiful smile could light up the darkest of rooms and her loud laugh was so infectious. She truly was our family’s shining star. She was our hero. Niccki was larger than life even as a little girl…a true inspiration to all that were lucky enough to know her.

Niccki enjoyed many activities such as reading, gardening – both vegetable and flowers, family vacations, travelling with friends, cooking and baking for the kids, camping, shopping, but most of all, she loved big family dinners which there were many. She loved to plan dinner parties and have her friends and their children over. She enjoyed every holiday, but Christmas was her favorite. She would have all of the gifts bought and wrapped by October and the house was always decorated by early November.

Niccki was at peace in her final days knowing she was going to be with the Lord. She was comforted by knowing she would rejoice in the reunion with all the beloved family members that went before her, especially her Grandma Nina, in which she had a very close and profound relationship with.

A Private Mass was held by Father Derrick from Sacred Heart Cathedral in Kamloops. Entombment of her created remains will follow in the family crypt at Ocean View Mausoleum, Burnaby, B.C. at a later date.

Niccki was predeceased by her most loving Grandparents Antonio (Tony) and Nina Cianflone, Grandfather Erwin Marback, Uncles Antonio Jr. and Rudy Cianflone, Auntie Terri Cianflone, and numerous great grandparents and great uncles, as well as a couple close friends.

She will be mourned with great sadness by her parents Marie and Trevor Marback, her three beautiful children: daughters Emjai and Natalie and son Brooks Deschamps, all of Revelstoke; sister Danielle Marback of Martinsville, Saskatchewan; brother and sister- in-law Quinn and Kaitlynn Marback of Revelstoke; aunt and uncle Donna and Jim Spankes of Kamloops; Grandma Sylvia Marback of Calgary; aunt Tara Marback of Calgary; nephew Joshua Marback of Martinsville, Saskatchewan; cousins Cory Deverall of Revelstoke, Eddie Deverall of Abbotsford, Waylon (Allison) Deverall of Revelstoke; best friends Crystal Wuhlar of Revelstoke, Tamara Karras of Revelstoke and Ashley Ogilvie of Revelstoke. She also leaves behind her rambunctious, furry companion Bailey (Bales), as well as a host of many good friends and distant relatives.

The family would like to thank Dr. S. Rolheiser, Dr. S. Montgomery, Dr. B. Proctor Oncologist, Dr. C. Molder and the Nurses at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops. You went above and beyond in Niccki’s care with great compassion. We will not forget you.

Thank you to Father Derrick for all your weekly visits. They meant the world to her. Due to the Covid-19 we can not have a funeral at this time but will plan for A Celebration of Life at a later date when the virus is controlled. Niccki you are our Angel…you will be forever loved and always in our hearts. We miss you desperately Niccki.

Your loving family
