It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vincenzo Antonio “Vince” Timperio at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the age of 82 years.
Vince was born in Miglianico, Italy on February 26, 1937 and came to Canada in 1959 and to Revelstoke in the early 1960’s where he met his wife of 54 years, Ines Timperio (née D’Ippolito). They settled down in Revelstoke and started a family, having two sons, Joe and Rob. Vince worked as a Roadmaster for C.P. Rail for many years and earned the nickname “The Bear” for his strength, dedication and stubbornness.
He was an avid soccer player in his youth and coached his sons when they played. He also enjoyed watching his son Joe play hockey. Vince liked gardening and picking mushrooms, blueberries and huckleberries. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Vince is survived by his wife Ines; two sons: Joe (Lori) of Maple Ridge and Rob (Lisa) of Revelstoke; three grandchildren: Vincent, Ashley and Talia; three sisters and one brother of Italy, as well as numerous extended family in Revelstoke and Italy.
A Prayer Service will be recited from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Revelstoke on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 7:00 p.m., followed by The Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Cecil Nunez celebrant.
