Wilfred “Glen” McGregor passed away at Mount Cartier Court on Thursday, November 14 th , 2019 at the age of 89 years. A Funeral Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club, P.O. Box 1618, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Glen.
Glen was born on the family farm near Pratt, Manitoba on April 25, 1930 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since the early 1950’s. Glen was a CPR conductor for 38 years, retiring on February 1, 1989. Glen was a member of the Nordic Ski Club and groomed for the Moonlight Ski and helped with building back-country cabins. He was also a member of the Revelstoke Search & Rescue, Friends of the National Parks, Silvertips Senior Ball team and participated in the Senior Games, winning Gold medals for running. Glen enjoyed riding his bike around town and always had a wave and a smile for all. He especially loved to play with his grandchildren and taught many of them to ride their bikes, and left his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with many positive fond memories.
Glen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan of Revelstoke; three children: Cindy Crawford (Kevin) of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Barbara McGregor (Trent) of Revelstoke and Keith McGregor (Mary) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; eight grandchildren: Heather, David, Luci, Louie, Kerrie, Riley, Kaitlynn and Lucas and 17 great grandchildren.
