Obituary Notice – Wolfgang Hans Schlemmer

Wolfgang Hans Schlemmer passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke on November 18, 2019 at the age of 72 years. There will be no formal service by Wolf’s own request.

Wolf was born in Füssen, Germany on February 17, 1947 to Kurt and Eva Schlemmer. An enthusiastic explorer of life, Wolf was a world traveler, mountain climber, skier, kayaker, pilot, parachutist, and author. Wolf and his wife Monika moved to Revelstoke with their family in 1999 when they purchased the KOA campground east of town. He loved exploring the mountains and lakes around Revelstoke and instilled his passion for adventure in his family by taking them on hiking and camping trips. Often those trips would end with Wolf playing his guitar around the campfire in the evening. Wolf’s love for adventure came in second only to the fierce love he had for his wife, kids, and grandkids. For Wolf, family was everything.

Wolf was predeceased by his parents Kurt and Eva Schlemmer. He is survived by his wife Monika of Revelstoke and his children: Patrick Schlemmer of Revelstoke, Daniel (Stefanie) Schlemmer of Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Julia (Chris) Gauer of Revelstoke, and Kilian (Alicia) Schlemmer of Halifax, Nova Scotia; his grandchildren: Raphael, Ella, Jayden, Bria and Finley; his brother Gerhard (Ulrike) Schlemmer of Germany; his mother-in-law Gertraud John of Germany, as well as many nieces, nephews, and numerous close friends.

Wolf’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Queen Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care and service.
