At approximately 4:00 am on Friday January 24th, 2020 the Revelstoke RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle collision approximately 46 kms east of Revelstoke on the Trans-Canada Highway. The collision involved a commercial vehicle and the Lanark Snow shed.
Front line responders attended to the location and found the commercial tractor trailer sideways in the tunnel, with heavy damage to the truck. There were two occupants of the truck, and the driver was determined to be deceased on scene.
The Trans Canada East Traffic Services and Revelstoke General Duty attended to conduct the investigation. EMCON, Ministry of Transportation, Traffic Control Flaggers, and the vehicle towing company were also in attendance. The expected time of opening is after 9 am.
