RCU Family Fun Run 2019 a Hit

It was a clear spring morning and the atmosphere was jovial for the Revelstoke Credit Union’s (RCU) Family Fun Run.

The event included 2km, 5km and 10km races. Prizes were awarded to the fastest times in each distance for various age ranges, as well as for best costume.

The run saw racers pushing strollers or being accompanied by kids on bikes, Chris Miller ripped through the course on his trike, and participants of all ages ran, jogged or walked. Numerous families took part in the race, which was free to enter.

While the event is based around a race, don’t be fooled. There was something for everyone. Kids played at the park, enjoyed free popcorn, a kids area, and face painting.

Twisted Berry Frozen Yoghurt was on hand, and Peak Axe Throwing had their trailer on site and everyone over the age of ten stoked to hurl an axe.

The Family Fun Run is part of the RCU Community Engagement Strategy, where the RCU engages with the community through inclusive free events.
