Stacie Byrne –
The holiday season is a time for fellowship and camaraderie, no one should be alone. If you would like to share in some community Christmas cheer please join the Community Christmas Dinner Committee on Dec. 25 for a home cooked holiday meal.
The meal will be served between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Catholic Church Hall at 510 Mackenzie Ave.
The volunteer chefs are cooking up all of the fixings including turkey, stuffing, brussel sprouts and bread pudding. The food will be labelled and dietary restrictions are taken into consideration.
The 24th annual event is run by volunteers and powered by donations from the community. Ginger Shoji was one of the founders of the event and said that in the beginning there were only 30 people. The event has grown exponentially since then with approximately 300 people attending each year.
A ride share service is available for those who need transportation to the event. For those who would rather eat in their own homes, dinner is also available for delivery at no charge.
To order a ride or a delivery call Stacie Byrne at 250-200-0022.
