Revelstoke Maternity Project Survey to Help Assess Local Maternity Needs

The Revelstoke Chapter of the Rural and Remote Division of Family Practice has been granted funding from Shared Care to research ways to enhance the maternity services in our community.

Shared Care Partners for Patients has, according to their site, ‘initiated a new ‘spread network’ to support an Interprofessional Collaborative Approach (IPC) to care.’

Jennifer Brunelle, the Maternity IPC Project Lead, notes that similar initiatives are taking place in multiple locations across British Columbia. “The project team is made up of local maternity physicians, midwives, obstetric and public health nurses, doulas, obstetricians and Interior Health representation,” she writes. “Results from the survey will help us to better understand the wants and needs of the community so we can direct our efforts in a way that will best serve Revelstoke women.”
