Revelstoke Senior Centre Craft Market Weekend Ready to Sell Homemade Goods

The Revelstoke Senior Centre is hosting their two day Craft Market Weekend November 24 and 25. The market, next door to the Revelstoke Community Centre, has several vendors offering local homemade goods as well as soup, chilli and buns from the kitchen. There is an amazing quilt up for raffle in addition to several vendors running their own raffles.

The event itself serves as a fundraiser for the local Volunteer Medical Transport Program. As such, there is a three dollar per adult entrance fee, children are free.

The Volunteer Medical Transport Program provides transportation to medical appointments, both locally and long distance, with a volunteer driver. It is available to anyone in need, whether they are seniors or not. The Volunteer Medical Transport Program does not take the place of, or interfere with, other local transportation services.

The Seniors Centre has excess third party liability insurance, which ensures volunteer drivers do not have to increase their own liability insurance. Volunteer drivers are compensated for gas, given a meal allowance and a small compensation for wear and tear of their vehicle. Drivers do not need medical training, and anyone using the service must be able to enter and exit a vehicle without assistance, or bring a companion who can assist them as needed.

For information or to register, please call the Senior Centre 250 837 9456 from Tuesday – Friday between 9 am to 12 pm.

Come and peruse the goods at the Craft Market Weekend tomorrow, and pick up a few Christmas Presents while supporting a vital service in our community.
