Women’s Mega Clothing Swap Raises $1,000

The fourth annual Women’s Mega Clothing Swap Fundraiser raised $1,000 for the Revelstoke Aquaducks, a local junior swim team.

The popular event saw 230 shoppers come in and peruse the donated articles of clothing. Considering entry was only $5 with a clothing donation, items continued to come in throughout the event as shoppers came and went, keeping the selection fresh.

DJ Spanda donated her time and equipment to entertain throughout the event, and numerous local business donated door prizes. There were fifteen volunteers on hand to keep things running smoothly.

The Revelstoke Credit Union had previously awarded organizer Lexie Ast a $500 Community Giving Grant to cover the events space rental and liability insurance.

Ast is excited for next year’s event, hinting that something bigger and better is coming. As for this year, the event, she stresses, is only possible thanks to the volunteers, supporters and prize donors.

“I just want to say a truly sincere thank you,” says Ast.
