On Aza Deschamps sixteenth birthday she wasn’t taking her drivers license test. Instead, the local musician and Revelstoke Secondary School Grade 11 student was filming the video for her latest single, Ordinary, in Vancouver BC. Despite her young age, this was not Aza’s first foray into music videos. Her first single, Strangers, has been entered into the CBC Searchlight Competition. (You can read about Aza and the competition here ) and was released in November of 2018.
“The video for Ordinary was fun to shoot because it was a little more complex than the Strangers video,” she says. “I’m excited for people to see it.”
Ordinary launched today and it is the second single from her upcoming debut album with Jump Attack Records. Aza’s album is comprised entirely of original music. A lyricist, Aza wrote or co wrote much of the album with close friend Cole Blakely.
The video for Ordinary hit YouTube this morning and has already had several hundred views.
The new song shows off the rich timbre of her alto voice and has a Lorde kind of vibe.
Head on over to youtube and check out some Revelstoke talent getting ready to take on the Canadian music scene.
