On Saturday December 7, 2019 at approximately 11 am the Revelstoke RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Arrow Heights neighbourhood, near Queen Victoria Hospital. The vehicle was operated by a male driver (described as a 50 to 60 year old male with a fuzzy gray beard) and a female passenger. The occupants reportedly offered four youth playing on the street candy, and then threw chocolates out the window. The youth took appropriate action and advised nearby adults.

A concerned adult also observed this occur and was able to obtain photographs of the vehicle at a considerable distance. The vehicle in question appears to be an older model Ford Econoline van, dark blue with a silver ladder on the rear driver’s side door. The van is displaying a BC licence plate. The plate is not legible in photos.

The police conducted extensive patrols within the community seeking out the suspicious vehicle and have been unable to locate it to date. Any witnesses or concerned persons are encouraged to contact the Revelstoke RCMP at the non-emergency number of 250.837.5255.

The police advise the public to not hesitate to report such incidents so that police can identify those involved and take action where possible. The police also commend the youth for their confidence in reporting this suspicious incident and staying safe!
