“Let’s Go” Public Art Installation Scheduled This Week

Revelstoke, BC – The City is excited to announce that “Let’s Go” by Rabi’a Art, a public art piece selected by the Public Art Committee from Winlaw, BC will be arriving today.

Watch for the mosaic and steel sculpture’s appearance in the planter box in front of City Hall this week.

The City will be leasing the piece from the Castlegar Sculpturewalk for one year, with the option to purchase at the end of the lease.

Director of Parks, Recreation & Culture, Laurie Donato stated, “Public Art provides free and accessible art to all
while enriching the urban landscape. This piece is a great addition to the City’ existing inventory of public art. Leasing a piece is a great way to get the community involved in providing input on whether or not we should purchase the piece selected.”

“Thank you to the Public Art Committee members for their detailed review of the Castlegar Sculpturewalk catalogue and careful selection of this piece”. Councillor Nicole Cherlet added, “Public Art is an important element in showcasing culture in our community.”

“We are delighted to have a piece of Public Art from the Castlegar Sculpturewalk. The piece was selected as a conversation piece for the community”, said Public Art Committee Chair, Jaqueline Pendergast. “We hope people from far and wide enjoy it.”
