71 cm of snow in four days – Street and Sidewalk Parking Hampering Snow Removal

Once again the City of Revelstoke is requesting residents and visitors to park in appropriate places during snow removal. Over 71 cm of snow has fallen in Revelstoke since December 31st, and more snow is in the forecast. For City snow removal employees, this means they have worked through the New Years Celebrations, working double shifts and long hours to keep up with snowfall.

This weekend, the crews will be utilizing all resources to complete a full snow clean up. Their schedule means that snow removal will be taking place with day and night shifts Friday and Saturday, returning to regular shifts on Sunday, January 5th.

Help make it a doable project by moving vehicles off the roads and away from sidewalks. Vehicles impeding snow removal will be ticketed and/or towed.

Do not place your snow on the City streets it is not permitted and is subject to ticketing.

Keep children, pets and yourselves a safe distance away from heavy snow removal equipment.
