Cathy was born in Revelstoke, BC on October 17, 1958. She was a 5th generation Revelstokian. Cathy retired in 2017 after working for 32 years with Interior Health in various positions at public health, and mental health and addiction services. She loved her work and the people she worked with.
Cathy loved Revelstoke and lived there her entire life except for two years spent studying at Caribou College in Kamloops, BC. She never missed a Christmas in Revelstoke. Cathy was a lifetime member of the Revelstoke Golf Club and she volunteered on many community boards and loved all the arts and culture in Revelstoke. Cathy and Russ enjoyed many happy adventures exploring in Russ’ convertible. She followed her father’s seasonal rounds of picking rhubarb, huckleberries, and mushrooms. Cathy produced wonderful pies and jams with the pickings.
Cathy had an excellent mind for facts and figures. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of family, Revelstoke history and community, and was an invaluable resource for everyone who knew her. Cathy was a kind and generous person who enjoyed long and rich friendships.
Cathy was predeceased by her brother Robert in 1980 and her parents Marian and Ken. She is survived by her cherished partner Russ Torgunrud of Revelstoke; brother Bruce Granstrom and wife Rosemary Kelsall of Revelstoke and her adored nieces Kate and Beth Granstrom.
