Jim Freberg passed away with his loving family by his side, at home in Revelstoke, on Thursday October 11, 2018 at the age of 63 years. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Hall on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 2:00pm.
Jim was born in Queen Charlotte City, BC on June 1, 1955. He was a long time resident of Revelstoke. He was experienced in working a variety of jobs through his years. He was a faller, bucker, heavy equipment operator, and logging truck hauler for many years. Jim was a long time employee at Valley Blacktop and H & J Ready Mix and enjoyed his job and coworkers.
Jim’s favorite past time was sitting on his chair on the porch at his home spending time with his family and catching up on how everyone’s day had been. Jim always put his family first. He enjoyed rebuilding motorcycles. He enjoyed mushroom picking, fishing, leisurely drives, travelling to local drag races, and catching up on the latest gossip about his family and friends. Jim enjoyed Instagram and loved to check out the photos of motorcycles and the latest photos of the people he cared about. Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, his witty comments, and his quiet way of living life.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Victor and Eileen Freberg. He is survived by his wife Sue of Revelstoke; four children: Kristina of Surrey, Vanessa of Revelstoke, Michael (Meg Lesack) of Revelstoke, and daughter Jessica of Revelstoke.; two grandchildren, Aedan and Kylar of Revelstoke. Grandmother-in-law Shizuko (bachan) Tamura of Revelstoke; mother-in-law Akiko Szekely of Coquitlam; sister-in-law Sheila (Dan Brett) Szekely of Coquitlam; brother-in-law Richard (Letitia Houston) of Golden; niece Porshia (Brennon)Schultz, grand-niece Lucia of Armstrong; nephew Toshiro Szekely of Salmon Arm. Jim will be sadly missed by his dog Yaz and cat Babycat as well as many family members and numerous good friends.
