Obituary Notice – Michael Lee Nicholson (May 28, 1959- September 16, 2020)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Mike, who passed away unexpectedly but ever so peacefully, he will be greatly missed.

Mike was born in Penticton, B.C. to Murray and Arlyss Nicholson. Growing up in Lytton and Yale for most of his childhood, he spent many summers as a child in Kaleden with his Grandparents, which held a special place in his heart. He eventually moved to Hope where he lived for several years, and around ‘95, Mike settled in Revelstoke, which he had called home for the last 25 years.

Dad was a Log Loader Operator for many years, starting in the industry at a young age, he worked for various companies from the Lower Mainland to the Interior (Hope to Revelstoke), and many surrounding areas. He took great pride in his work and was known for being highly skilled at his job. He made many friends along the way and will be so missed by the Logging Community – the friends who were like family to him.

Dad loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing or spending time around a fire socializing, sharing stories and many laughs. He will be remembered for his quick-witted sense of humour, his social attitude and caring personality.

Michael is survived by his brother’s, Robert, Peter, and John. As well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He will be forever missed by so many, especially his children, Leah, Mitchell, and Dustin.

It will be a hard road without you, Dad, but we know you will be there guiding us along the way… we love you and miss you beyond words.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to everyone reaching out during this extremely difficult time. Unfortunately, due to the protocols set for gatherings at this time, a celebration of life will be announced when possible.

Arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
