Mr. Oeds de Jager passed away at Mount Cartier Court, Revelstoke on Monday October 1st, 2018 at the age of 91 years. A celebration of Oeds’ life will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2 pm with a reception to follow at the Revelstoke Seniors Center.
Oeds was born in Garyp, Holland on January 31, 1927. He moved to Revelstoke in 1953 and worked as a Body Man for Ken Taylor Motors for 30 years. Oeds enjoyed gardening, fishing the Arrow Lakes and walking his dogs. He loved his family and his religion.
Oeds was predeceased by his parents, one brother and one son-in-law, Jim Morabito. He is survived by his wife Tina de Jager of Revelstoke; son John (Lynn) de Jager of Salmon Arm; daughter Ann Morabito of Revelstoke, son Barry de Jager of Revelstoke, daughter Kathy (Jeff) Lindgren of Revelstoke, son Danny (Stephanie) de Jager of Revelstoke and daughter Teresa (Doug) Leibel of Vernon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. MacLeod and the staff at Queen Victoria Hospital and a very special thank you to the staff at Mount Cartier Court for the care they provided to Oeds in his last year.
