Shirley Florence Quiring passed away peacefully at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Wednesday August 19 with her son Vern, daughter-in-law Lorraine and niece Tammie by her side. There will be no formal funeral service by Shirley’s own request, but her cremated remains were interred in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke.
Shirley was born on July 25, 1944 in Revelstoke, B.C. and lived in numerous places before returning to her hometown November 2019. She loved playing darts and horseshoes, bowling, crocheting, gardening and playing Bingo. Shirley was a social butterfly and lived a full life.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2015; sister Violet in 2015; sister Eleanor in 2017; nephew Noah in 2018 and stepsons Jack and Gerry Quiring. She is survived by her son Vernon (Lorraine) McKinley of Edmonton; step children: Barb, Brenda, Wayne and Randy; 13 grandchildren; bountiful great grandchildren; brother Harold (Bink); sister Jane and brother-in-law Ernie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Deschner, Dr. Batchelor, Dr. Kate McCarroll and all the nurses on acute care at Queen Victoria Hospital for the special care given to Shirley.
