Revelstoke Canada Post CUPW Employees on 24 hour Strike

Revelstoke’s Canada Post Office CUPW employees are on strike for the next 24 hours. As part of the rotating postal strike, both Revelstoke, Sorrento, Sicamous and Salmon Arm offices are closed.

Assistant Team Lead Janis Jarvis explains that unless a contract settlement is reached, it is likely Revelstoke employees will strike again in a couple of weeks.

The mail boxes are accessible. “People can check mail if they haven’t checked their mail yesterday,” says Jarvis. However, in support of Revelstoke Postal workers, Jarvis notes it would be appreciated if residents could hold off and not cross the picket lines.

Services at the post office will resume Tuesday, Nov. 12 2018.
