On October 14, 2019 at 15:26, Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services (RFRS) responded to a report of a residential structure fire on Griffiths Road in the Big Eddy.
Upon arrival, fire crews found a fully involved mobile home and began a defensive attack. The mobile home sustained heavy fire damage. Neighboring exposures were protected to prevent any fire spread. One resident taken to hospital for assessment. Emergency Support Services provided support to the resident.
Firefighters extinguished and overhauled the fire in approximately three hours, with no injuries to any of the 21 responding Fire Personnel. RFRS responded with 2 pumpers, water tender and 2 command vehicles. A Fire Investigator is currently on scene working to determine a cause and a damage estimate.
