It’s a good day to stick around town if you can. DriveBC reports that, east of Revelstoke, Highway 1, in both directions will see avalanche control work between Glacier National Park West Boundary and Beaver Valley Rd for 32.0 km (1 km east of West Boundary of Glacier National Park to 11 km east of Rogers Pass Summit) until 4:00 pm today. Expect road closures up to two hours, no detours.
Limited visibility with snow between Glacier National Park West Boundary and Glacier National Park East Boundary for 43.5 km (1 km east of West Boundary of Glacier National Park to East Boundary of Glacier National Park). Compact snow. Slushy with slippery sections.
West of Revelstoke, roads are reported as being slushy with slippery sections and compact snow.
