Students From Begbie View, Columbia Park and Ecole des Glaciers This Year’s “Fire Chief for a Day” Winners

Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services is pleased to announce that Maëlle Castillo of Begbie View Elementary School, Alba Cumming of Columbia Park Elementary School, and Amelia Leenders of Ecole des Glaciers were this year’s “Fire Chief for a Day” winners. Maëlle, Alba, and Amelia’s “Look, Listen Learn” posters, were chosen among the 127 entries that were submitted.

Maëlle, Alba, and Amelia were picked up at school on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in Ladder #6 and spent the afternoon as the City’s Fire Chiefs. Fire Chiefs Castillo, Cumming and Leenders received a tour of the Fire Training Centre, prize packages and participated in fire department activities that included a mini firefighter challenge and live fire demonstrations.  The three young Fire Chiefs were then treated to a pizza lunch with the Fire Chief and Career Firefighters.
