To Tackle COVID-19 Concerns, Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club Closing Lodge on Monday, March 16 for the Season

In support of Canadian efforts to minimize the transmission of COVID-19, the Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is notifying members and the public that as of March 16th, the ski lodge will be closed for the remainder of season. This weekend will also see reduced hours.

“The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club will be shortening the lodge hours this weekend and then closing the lodge for the season starting on Monday. Please plan your visits accordingly. Lodge hours: Saturday March 14th 9 am-4 pm, evening closed. Sunday March 15th 9 am-4 pm, evening closed. Monday March 16th – closed for season. Ski rentals will continue for Saturday March 14th and Sunday March 15th. Then our fleet of rental skis will receive their summer coat of wax and be put aside until next winter,” reads the club’s newsletter.

The club will still be grooming the trails until the end of season.

“We encourage our members to have fun on the trails and enjoy the great conditions we are currently having,” the newsletter notes. “Day fees will continue to be in place until grooming has ceased. Please use the outside fee box.”

The annual Poker Ski has been cancelled. The club is encouraging people to participate in an Online Distance Ski Challenge.

“We know we have Strava lovers out there and people who do daily diaries of their activities. There are many reasons to track your movements: friendly competition to be “King/Queen of the hill”, to beat your fastest time, to see how far you went or to know what you’ve been up to and look back with pride,” reads the newsletter. “From March 16th to March 29th track your distance (by honour system) on our online Excel spreadsheet. (Link to be available on the website on Monday). Draw prizes will be awarded, including one for just participating!”
