The Revelstoke Snowmobile Club is hosting an avalanche awareness and mountain safety day on Saturday, January 19, presented by Marc Joiner.
“Learn and practice with avalanche forecasters, search and rescue, pro riders and experienced snowmobilers,” the club’s website says. ”Scenarios, snow and terrain evaluation, searches and ride planning. It is NOT a replacement for an avalanche course, but a great addition to one!”
The event is free of charge and prizes are available.
Participants are to meet at 8:00 – 8:30 am at the Boulder Mountain Welcome Centre with the plan to head for the cabin at 9:00 am. The event will wrap up around noon.
