Skier Dies at Revelstoke Mountain Resort on Family Day

On Monday February 18, 2019 at approximately 9:32 am the Revelstoke RCMP were notified by Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) Ski Patrol of a medical incident requiring Police and possibly Search and Rescue attendance to help rescue a patient in cardiac arrest.

The Revelstoke Mountain Resort Ski Patrol had responded to an injured skier underneath the Revelation Gondola. A male skier was found unconscious on the side of the slope. RMR Ski Patrol were the first responders to the male skier and performed first aid. Thereafter Emergency Medical Services took over care of the male. After being transported to the hospital, the male was pronounced deceased.

The male deceased was identified as a citizen of Denmark.

The Revelstoke RCMP have the lead in the investigation and have contacted the individual’s family.
The RCMP and RMR wish to express our sincerest condolences to family, friends and co-workers for this sad loss.

There is no foul play suspected in this tragic death and the investigation has been turned over to the BC Coroner Service.
